The Frock Flicks team is taking some extra time off at the end of 2020, and we’re repeating a few classic posts from the archives.
Focusing on a love triangle during the Armenian Genocide in 1915, this movie is only a little shmaltzy and does try to address a range of issues brought up by the conflict. The costumes by French designer Pierre-Yves Gayraud working with Tirelli Costumi are beautiful and believable, plus Oscar Isaac is yummy to watch! The Promise is currently available for streaming on Netflix and can be rented on Amazon, Google Play, YouTube, and more.
