  1. Auntie Mame is one of my favorite fashion movies. Rosalind Russell always wore clothes so well.

  2. I’m in the gang of those who love this movie, regardless of it’s inaccuracies. Those period-inappropriate clothes are all so gorgeous!

I do need to mention, having lived this show on stage for many months (as the snooty Gloria Upson), that your timeline is a bit off. The show (and film) open in 1929, probably in September (the crash was Oct of that year). It can’t end in the 50’s, as Patrick and Pegeen’s son is no older than the 10 years Patrick was at the beginning of the story (on stage this part is played by the same actor who covers the Young Patrick part. In the film, he’s cast even younger) and we assume they marry very shortly after he breaks off his engagement to Gloria, in about 1938. The story ends in the late 40’s.

Other than that little quibble, I LOVE your reviews and look forward to each and every one!
