Summer Repeat: Barry Lyndon

The Frock Flicks team is taking a little time off for a summer break, so we’re repeating some favorite posts from the archives.

The plot may be languorous, but the 18th-century costumes by Milena Canonero and Ulla-Britt Söderlund deserved the Oscar win. Even the hair gets a thumbs-up from Kendra!

Ah yes, the film that introduced me to the music of The Chieftains way back in the day. For that alone I’d love it, but I’m one of the few people I know who saw Barry Lyndon and enjoyed it overall. I wasn’t certain Ryan O’Neal was up to the weight of the role, but the scenery, music and costuming made up for it. Thanks for sharing!
