I thought today would be a good day to watch some old favorites, and decided to pop on Blackadder II (1986). That’s when I realized that what the world really needed was a Frock Flicks article dedicated to the fantastic character Lord Flashheart, played by Rik Mayall.
Blackadder II (1986)
If we ever put together our top picks for the most historically accurate films and shows ever produced, Blackadder II would for sure be on it. And even though Lord Flashheart is a one-off character in this series, he makes reappearances in later Blackadder offerings. You can’t beat this memorable entrance! WOOF!
Blackadder Goes Forth (1989)
Flashheart reappears as a recurring character by the same name in Blackadder Goes Forth, which is set during World War I. He plays a womanizing flying ace, naturally.
Blackadder Back & Forth (1999)
In the Millennium special, Rik Mayall appears as Robin Hood, dropping Flashheart’s signature line, “WOOF!”

I’m a big fan of the Elizabethan Flashheart. He just comes in and steals Edmund’s fiancée while making everyone laugh. Plus, I loved that his mustache kept trying to come off.
It’s the only time I feel a little bit sorry for Blackadder, for 1 second…and then that feeling is gone 😉😂

Oh, ‘Blackadder Back and Forth’ from 1999 is really funny👍🏻. It’s where he travels in a “time machine” and pops up all over great moments in British history. One of my favourite moments is when he kicks William Shakespeare (Colin Firth) in the shins, for making him sit though his theater Plays in 🇬🇧Secondary School (High School🇺🇸 ) as a teenager. And Shakespeare doesn’t understand what “modern” Blackadder is talking about, or why he is getting kicked.👌🏻🤣

I second that; just watched the millennial Blackadder special. Not up to the standard of the originals, but who cares? (And they got Colin Firth as Shakespeare!)
Everything about this, yes! I try to get everyone to watch Blackadder. I love history treated in such an irreverent and clever way. Elizabethan Flash has got to be my favorite because he looks killer in that dress
