What could be more lovely on a summer afternoon than a frothy, ruffled bustle gown? The image is romantic, fresh, and delightful. So are the bustled ladies in the lawn scenes of the BBC’s 1995 miniseries The Buccaneers, as well as the women in natural-form bustle gowns painted by James Tissot.
These were all inspirations for Kat aka Madame Modiste, who is our Flick Pick this month for this amazing reproduction of a costume from a historical movie or TV show. She recreated the Buccaneers‘ bustle gown in crisp, light cotton, making it even more ideal for summer frolicking.
