The exploration of their life together is insightful and fun to watch. I’ve read some of the early Wonder Woman comics, the bondage theme is very clear but apparently contemporaries didn’t notice. It was a more innocent time.

People do see what they want to see; I don’t think the lasso of truth quite qualifies as bondage. I grew up during the war. All I saw around me were women doing the jobs. Mt grandmother ran a rooming house and my mother worked two jobs. Wonder Woman, the Black Canary and Sheena were the norms for me, and I very much think Gal Gadot fills the sandals nicely since she has a Mediterrranean look and her service in IDF makes her a believable warrior. Sorry to heat 1984 is such a bomb. But I did enjoy Wonder Women movie; what a fascinating backstory so tastefully done. It could have been absolutely smarmy. Now, about H. G. Wells…or Charles Dickens…
