  1. Love the movie, love the costuming, love the actors–especially cutie-pie Jeremy Northam (though not as suave as Rupert Everett).
I really like how the costumer attired each actress according to her character’s personality. Mrs. Cheveley’s outfits were all a bit avant garde and flashy and not altogether focused on ideal figure flattery, but still gorgeous and elegant. But I like Gertrude’s outfits the best.

  2. Having devoured Wilde’s plays growing up, I must confess to being rather disappointed with most film versions as they have an annoying tendency to give you the build up but deny you the punchline. I have not, however, seen this version of “An Ideal Husband”, so have high hopes for it. Though I doubt Rupert Grint can really compete with with Jeremy Brett’s version of Lord Goring in the 1969 version (despite the ’60’s costuming).

  3. I’s enchanting but where are the petticoats? At least two of the action shots show skirts getting way way too in between the legs of the wearer. tsk tsk.
